“When creativity melds together with global issues,
I believe you can bring the world together"
— Virgil AblohVirgil’s Vision is a cultural project by Colony of Congo that honors and extends the legacy of Virgil Abloh. It reimagines his philosophy of design-as-resistance through the lens of Congolese history, Pan-African liberation, and future-driven creativity.
virgil would have loved Colony of Congo. we are proud to continue the legacy of Virgil Abloh — a visionary who transformed the language of fashion, art, and design into a global conversation on Black identity and liberation. Virgil Abloh taught us that design is a weapon of freedom. Colony of Congo continues that fight carrying forward his ethos of design as resistance, of centering Black identity, of building culture through fashion, sound, and memory.
virgil Abloh showed us that design is more than aesthetics—it’s a way of telling stories, reclaiming identity, and opening doors for the next generation. His Free Game philosophy, rooted in access and community, aligns deeply with our mission: to reimagine history, preserve memory, and empower African voices through art, fashion, and culture. Just as he centered and uplifted Black narratives, we honor his legacy by continuing the work of resistance, remembrance, and cultural celebration. Virgil made the blueprint.
